hahaha as soon as I heard the crash heard ‘round the lot, my second thought after hoping you were ok was, “oh, he’s got a good hook for a future piece!”

You already lost a topo chico, I wouldn’t dare take this too 😘

🤣💯"Then he told me how he’s trying to get ahead by writing 43 amazing new pieces, and it made me think that the secret to writing might be to write in my car in a Whole Foods parking lot."

I also ordered it pre-launch and still use it religiously. I say ‘religiously’ because I can calculate the CO2 emissions from the electricity I use to run Lomi each month but I can not calculate the amount of methane that would have been released with a constantly changing mix of food waste. So, there is no formula other than faith that composting saves prevents more carbon release than I use to to compost.

I read this to feel superior for recycling my coffee can for kitchen compost--now I want one of these fancy contraptions. 😕

Don't succumb to my level! You're already a much better person than I am!

This was funny to read because I too have a Lomi, and use it every other day. As a gardener it has been a pretty sweet source of compost. Living in a rural area, they only introduced a compost pickup service this year! We don't keep it in the kitchen because the white noise is really unpleasant in our open-concept home. It goes in the laundry room just off the kitchen. As you say, time will tell if the investment is worth it, but so far i've been using it 3-4x/week since we got it last year and I've really enjoyed it.

Coming from someone who actually gardens, I now feel fully indicated in buying this! We do have a compost option, but this saves me so much time (and fruit flies!). The things we'll do for convenience...

Ok nerd out time: Do you use a LomiPod every time you run it?

I try to but i do forget sometimes...!

I also pre-ordered my Lomi and love it. My sister came to visit last year and now she has one too. Expensive but useful (so far). I’m hoping it lives a long time!

I just got their extended warranty so I’m hoping the same. Or at least something seriously breaks in the next two years like the master cylinder of a used car I bought that now runs forever.

From the new writer to the seasoned writer....thank you for helping me get rid of the last bit of shame I felt for not publishing last week!

Anytime! I don't think you even need to say anything about missing a week here and there. You're doing great!

... and from a different angle, who knows - maybe you all's food waste will evolve to be lesser.

We could absolutely waste less food...
