đ Good morning from Minneapolis, MN! I'm Nate Kadlac, and this is #105 of Plan Your Next. A Sunday newsletter that connects design, creativity, and how you prepare for your next thing.
đĄ Whatâs new?
âď¸ Live drawing event: This Friday, my friend Salman and I are hosting a live event on our drawing process. During the event, Iâll be drawing a visual for a studentâs article. Watch me potentially fail.
đ¨ My very own 2-day workshopâApproachable Designâkicks off on the weekend of May 21-22. You have mere seconds to convey your personality and trust. If you want to better embrace your own style and stand out online, youâre not alone. We cap the intimate workshop at 15, and there are only a few spots left. Check it out here!
This letter is short. The reason is that Iâm spending some time with friends, building something.
Before I spent seven years helping my friend build his real estate startup, I worked with him and two other friends.
The four of us would frequently huddle in a co-working space in Minneapolis, MN, working on our own projects. But more importantly, we spent a lot of time working on a few ideas together.
Even though none of those specific ideas turned into anything sustainable, that time together formed an unbreakable bond.
Who knows what becomes of this. But thereâs nothing like building with friends.
What are you building next?

đ Staying Put by Morgan Housel
I go on and on a lot about planning your next thing, but this is sound advice. There are many shiny objects on the horizonâbut compoundingâwhether itâs money or your network, needs time to incubate.
Whatâs easy to overlook is that networks and trust compound like any other asset, and every time you switch jobs or careers you reset the clock to some degree.

đ¸ Personal finance advice that will get you canceled
Buying a home is a bad investment. Not liquid. Seldom beats index funds, and have huge expense ratios. Just because it âbeats rentingâ doesnât mean it beats all the other possible investments you could make with the same money.
đ See you next Sunday
If youâve forgotten who I am, hereâs a little bit about me. As always, my calendar is open to chat about your next adventure, crazy idea, or if youâre feeling creatively stuck.
Have a great week,
